JoCo Phoenix Cheerleading

Fire Birds

The Firebirds are competitive cheer team created for athletes ages 5–21 with physical and cognitive disabilities. This team was built on the belief that every athlete deserves the chance to shine, compete, and be celebrated—both on and off the mat.

The Firebirds are more than a team; they are a family. Each athlete is supported, encouraged, and empowered to grow in confidence, independence, and teamwork while experiencing the excitement of competitive cheerleading in a safe, structured, and uplifting environment.

Competitive Experience
Throughout the season, the Firebirds proudly compete at four levels of competition:
-
Local Competitions
-
Regional Competitions
-
National Competitions
-
Global Competitions
These events allow our athletes to travel, perform, and experience the thrill of competition while representing their team with pride.
PeerLeaders Program
A unique and meaningful part of the Firebirds program is the support of our Phoenix PeerLeaders. These athletes are members of our Phoenix teams who volunteer their time to serve as mentors and role models.

PeerLeaders provide:
-
On-floor guidance during practices and performances
-
Encouragement, friendship, and leadership throughout the season
This program fosters inclusion, teamwork, and mutual growth—creating bonds that extend far beyond cheer.
